Why downgrade a 351? Put it in a Cortina or an Escort.

you mean they can actually take the weight of a 351C? considering that car was designed for a much smaller and lighter engine I imagine that there would need to be significant strengthening of the entire front end to take a 351 clevo. thats a very heavy motor even by V8 standards.

If they're built anything like the Cordia, the front will just break off

The Chev is a tight squeeze, he has 1/2 inch clearance either side of the block

aww comon pete give teh guy a break at least it is a ford engine and will need a ford 9" :)

for teh conversion the firewall will need to be moved back and the trans tunnel enlarged
also the front suspension and whole car chassis will need strengthing to allow for the wieght and power of the v8

it has been done a few times, saw one in perth at wanneroo yrs back was tight as!

the SM car was regoed as well and was a super sleeper even had facotyr vension blinds

hi
being a retired chrysler fan lol
me and a mate were working on a scorpion that we were trying to put a 318 in but after much measuring we decided to can the idea.

its possible but there is alot of fabrication to the fire wall and trans tunnel to position the engine corectly and then we needed to overcome the kw per tone rule required by nsw rta and the amount of engeneering needed to get it regestered was to much...
i was keen but my mate wasnt..

we did manage to get it to sit in the engine bay without modifing the firewall but the car was too front heavy..
