Hi, question , do the rpm's or kph govern the gear changes in the au autos. I have fitted a set of afr heads car runs great but where as beforehand the gears changed at 5200 rpm's now changes around 4700.

Engine RPM, TPS, Shaft speed, engine load, a/c status, engine temp, trans temp.

Any ideas why the change in max rpm gear shift taking into consideration of various operating conditions all similar to pre fitting of the afr heads.

The performance mode shift schedule alone suggests TP vs Driveshaft speed is a determining factor of what speed it will shift at.
With the increased performance you'll be accelerating to the same shaft speed earlier and most likely with less TP % to do it so the shift rpm wil be less. Did that make sense? |

Yes I know what you are getting at, also had a tps fault code come up , will replace it and see if it is the problem, thanks

Ok the TPS could have a large effect in that case. Of course there other factors involved. In the end it's basically a Load vs speed calculation.

Replaced TPS still same result so that rules a faulty TPS out. Can the shift points be changed in a custom tune?
