im raking through my head what would be the better setup.
im looking at getting around 260kw+ from my engine and therefor tossing up whether to get a single systen or duel system exhaust . would the twin make much difference over the single or not? any advice would be helpfull cheers

I think its more a case of what you think sounds better as either can make good power. I prefer big single note over dual unless your making serious 400hp plus then dual sounds awsome.

Go for duels with some sort of balance pipe between the two, or will have a drone inside the cabin like a big single. Most exhaust shops i have spoken to say go yhe duels

Duals are good if set up right. A good dual setup with x-pipe will cost a fair bit though compared with a large single system. Also, singles do not drone if designed correctly, my single 3" system has hardly any drone. If you have the money go for the dual system, otherwise stick with a single 3" system which will give you almost the same performance.

I agree with EDXR8.
A nice single 3" can do the job well. Twins are good too, but you need to get the set up right. Go for a reputable exhaust shop too. One of the FPV club members got a twin system for his XR8, and I admit - it sound good from inside the car. From outside - it sounds like s**t, and at the dyno comp, he made a LOT less than other XR8's with similar mods.

Complete dual system under a Fairlane? I think you are better off with a single system anyway...

what u putting it in anyway? if its an xseries, just go for a 3" duals are too much hassel because of fuel tank placements

Being that there is no proven power difference between dual and single, the choice is which you think sounds better.
I have dual under the LTD with X-member. Some go dual to the diff and single 3" over and out. Others go single 3" from the cats. |

im going to be getting one of those trickflow kits within a couple of months.
i knew twin to the a*** would be hard so i might put it to the diff then 3' pipe over it then duel exiting. 3' inch twins? thats a bit much

yeah just a bit. Id say a single 3" would be plenty just just about anyone on this forum. but the exhause really isnt where your going to notice the big changes, look further up the pointy end, get better headers, your current pipe probably flows more then enough

If you're looking at the 260kw mark,
Single 3' cat back. Dual 2 1/4 cat back. Performance the same. Better note always with the dual. Just run dual pipes side by side out the back. |
