i dont think anyone really bags em as a better filter just for the money is a bit of a jib compared to the stock one...ive heard they can have slighlty better filtration but to be branded as a performance filter is a bitta bull....personally just replace the standard filters every service if ya like and spend the money elsewhere like bendix ultimates or ebc greenstuff pads at least on the fronts

I probably wouldn't bother about the Iridiums, bit of a waste of money, but that just my opinion.

The K&N you have to be careful that you don't overoil it or you will get oil in your intake which cover MAF wires and stuff up your economy. I have one but I don't use it, prefer the paper filters.

Shift kit might be a bit of a waste of $$$, or DIY with resistors etc. Also the diff ratio change from 3.45 to 3.7 might be a bit too tall for your type of driving if you do a lot of highway kms. It will rev a fair bit higher in all gears and with the 2 1/2 inch exhaust might create a drone at 100km/hr or 110km/hr.

Instead of these maybe get a larger MAF and throttle body, or you may have to look at a camber kit with the superlows. Better still stash the money away until your next lot of pay and go for new heads, manifolds, cam or whatever tickles your fancy. Go for the performance stuff!!

You have to ask yourself why did you buy a fairlane as the superlows will shake your teeth out on anythink but a smooth road. If you go for the superlows roll the guard lip or you will bend your guard even with 235's like I did.

just went and got quotes for pacemaker PH4000, from one joint they wanted to charge me $1550 supplied and fitted, and then another joint wanted $850 supplied and fitted.

obviously i will go with the cheaper one, but is this about the right price for these, supplied and fitted??

Even $850 is a tad expensive. You can get the extractors for $600 supply only, and it should only really cost $100-150 to fit them.

i found the extractors for $600 delivered to the door, so u reckon that it will only cost about $100-150..... it takes about 2-3 hours to fit yes??

or can u fit them urself? is it hard, or do they need to do exhaust test on it after they are fitted?

Easy to fit if you can weld, just have to bolt them up to the heads, cut the exhaust and weld on the flange to bolt up to the extractors. I can't see it taking an exhaust shop more than an hour so even $100 for a hours work is a bit extreme IMO but not too bad.

if you don't know how to weld real well, do what i did in my ute.
take it up to the exhaust shop with just the extractors fitted.
it's an awesome drive there but if you get caught you're f**k.

I have superlows in my BA. I reckon go them if you are prepared to dodge driveways, large bumps and take speed bumps sideways. I do all that so that i can have the car squat down on the road (my car is cambered though), plus I love the stance of the car on king superlows. Lows would look good though. Depends if you are prepared to be extra careful. Your choice mate.

That info was based on a single test which goes against a number of other tests, so I don't think you can conclude that paper filters are better from that. I have also personally seen improvements from K&N filters on the dyno, nothing huge but still an improvement.
