got sick of looking at leads and crap that the barbecue plate normally covers, but after my manifold mod I couldn't put the plate back on, so I got out the dremel and a few cans of paint, what do you reckon.

thanks guys, the blue looks lighter in the photo, I did the ford bit with a silver paint pen, needs another go then some clear, do you reckon I should fill in the 5 Litre V8 and fuel injection blue and do the airbox silver (well actually its aluminium) or blue.

Nice neat cutting of the cover.
I never bothered painting my whole cover, I just did the lettering to bring it out.

You need that 5.0 litre V8 badge for the Explorer manifold.
The rest of what you did looks awesome. |

It was a slow process but for a first painting effort by me, I'm quite happy with it. I can upload a bigger clearer picture of the lettering if required.

do the airbox blue - that way itl match the colour lines from the blue on the engine cover.. *gets back in box*

the whole thing in silver with a blue highlight would have been my choice .. woulda looked pimpin.. but none the less the blue matches the rubber ends on the intake pipe.
Did you sand back anything at all Primer etc ? I did mine in navy blue, but have decided to go with gloss black when I get off my a** to sand it back. |
