I'm running the Street Heat, which is now called the Street Burner and am really happy with the kit. I've had this kit for about 2 and a half years now. I'm also running 1.72 roller rockers with stock bottom end. There's a nice lumpy idle which you can see if you look up EL XR8 Idle on youtube. It just needs a good tune to compliment it. I think everything you need to know is in my sig.

I love the idle. I cringe when I have Mr Plod behind me though.
The axles cost me $900 delivered and by the time I had the centre resplined to 31 spline, it has come to about 2k. Turns out the axles may be a bit long... will get that sorted soon, I hope.

G&J Differentials, I think is their name, from Dandenong. If you get them, check the lengths, cos it looks like mine may be a bit long and have to pull them out soon to check.

Have you got everything fitted up and running yet mate? Will be very interested to see how it turns out.

thanks for the info on that its something I will be looking at in the future. I got it back last night it made 276rwhp on a 40 degree day and my exhaust rear section is rusted out so I have to get that fixed, so they think its got a few more horse power to gain. I'm not happy with it at the moment because when started it hunts for idle and when it goes from park to neutral (its an auto) it stalls unless you give it some revs, they have told me that I need a new ecu but i didnt have any ecu problems before? it also has a loud whistling sound coming from the manifold, did you have this problem? other than these problems it drives great and its a big improvement in power

If you fitted a BBK TB, that could be you problem, i had no end of dramas with mine til i filled in the ISC hole, deleted the ISC and it went away. Apparently if you smooth the edges in the ISC port it will go away.

Did you connect all the vaccum hoses, theat may be a cause for the whislte as well as the average to poor idle.

Brett

I think BBK sorted that problem out Brett.
I bought a couple of BBK TB's and the one I have fitted now already had the edges beveled due to that whistling problem that the Mustang owners had some time ago.

As for the hunting idle, could be the TPS is not set properly.

I got a second opinion today and the mechanic was 99% sure that it is an air leak but couldnt find exactly where it was from without pulling everything apart, he also said the leak could be the cause of my stalling problem, so its going to have to go back to where it was put together to get it sorted out. Sorry XR23IL for hijacking your thread with my "problems"

Nah mate, it's your throttle body. I also have the 70mm BBK and it whistles like a mofo! It's a matter of removing it and smoothing off the edges of the isc ports as Brett mentioned before. I haven't done it yet, but will do when I put the stroker bottom end in. My idle is sweet, but I have a manual. I know it's the tb/isc because as as soon as the isc shuts, the noise stops.

As for your hunting idle, try bumping your base idle up a touch. Sounds like it is too low to me, causing it to stall when changing to D. I had the same problem, turning corners slowly with clutch engaged and taking off. It'd always stall unless I gave it plenty of revs. I can't remember what I bumped the base idle up to now, but get it as close to whatever idle you want to be running so the isc isn't relied upon so much.

Hopefully this helps you out.

Are you able to post up some dyno sheets with hp and nm? Will be keen to see how your car performs.
