Hi gents
i have a mate with a 5.0ltr EL Wagon. Had it dynoed today and only came up with 111RKW... that don't seem correct as i had an EF 6 2yrs ago that produced the same. only has a 3inch exhaust and thats it. so my question is.. what should it be producing? cheers guys Cam

When my v8 fairlane was standard it run a 118kw on the dyno. they are pretty much on par with the 6's. you need to throw a little cash at them for them to run better.

yea the old 5l windsor is a bit of a slug.
Considering the 302 block is like 40 years old or so. And it takes plenty o money to get em up n goin. Unless its a au 220 or Tseries.

I'd expect around 115-120rwkw through an Auto EL. It's about right, dyno may have been a little pessimistic.
Throw a raptor s/c on her. Supercharged EL v8 Wagon........

Ive owned a fair few e-series now, many windsors. Yes in stock form complete with E7 heads and HO s**t manifold they arnt the fastest. Yet the power they do have is pretty flexible and I prefer it over a faster 6
I'd also like to mention that EB GT, ED Sprint, EL GT, EL 185 XR8 and the AU models move quite nicely with their upgradeds. And getting decent headers helps the windsor ten fold. Stock headers suck

The earlier crushed headers are rubbish.

My ef V8 wagon has a better intake manifold, full dual exhaust, e7 heads and a unichip with a tune and could only manage 115odd kws. The dyno wasnt in shootout mode or something but it made decent torque.
Ill dig up a dyno sheet if I remember.

These are the petrol ones obviously the LPG readouts are less.
*edit, just realised it was run in 2nd gear... not sure how that affects things. I think they were afraid of the speeds using 3rd with the long diff gears.

main three, manifold, throttle body and headers. All were restricted for fuel economy.
