Ok so, I have an NL Fairlane Concorde V8.
Going to get a 15 grand loan. What would YOU spend the money on? Purely on the car. For best results in performance and looks. I have my own ideas, I just want some fresh ones, there might be something I've overlooked or haven't thought of. So, out with it. 15G's what would you do? |

Otherwise it would definitely be that instead of the car. |

I would NEVER get a 15k loan to spend on modifications.
Just save until you can afford it outright....but anyways, your life your decision. If you do end up going ahead with it, i'd be building something that'll make so much power you'd need to spend a portion of that 15k on a aftermarket block. I'd have the car looking mint with just some nice wheels, interior would be mint standard, and the 15k would be blown on the driveline for sure.

Well that's what it looks like and the interior is pretty decent, slight wear in the front seat, nothing major. But yes I wanted to spend the majority on drive line. Want to make her to go as good as she looks |

Hey man, first I have to agree with the others; I almost took a loan to do mods but I'm glad I didn't. It's not worth it and soon I'm buying a house..
But, if you go ahead it depends on what you want. Do you want power, audio, suspension, brakes, good overall?

I wouldn't get a loan, and all i'd do to that car would be:
Put side moulds back on, clear repeaters and work out some custom skirts/rearbar to match the front. or go for a more subtle kit to match the fairlane 'class' i love those wheels.

Well I have all the audio sorted out, I work at Motoquipe so I get Soundstream at cost price Brakes are done, they've been upgraded and the front suspension has been done, rears still sitting on stock adjustables. So the loan would be to cover pretty much power. {USERNAME} wrote: Trade it in and use the money you have to get a better decent car. Or, dont spend it on a car. Cars arent everything. Or better yet, get a smaller loan and only use what ya need. :O you saying my car isn't decent My car is my everything, I dont have anything else. haha. Yeh and thats why i ask for peoples ideas and opinions as Im sorting it all out on an excel spread sheet to see how low I can make it with most amount of mods, value for money kinda. {USERNAME} wrote: I wouldn't get a loan, and all i'd do to that car would be: Put side moulds back on, clear repeaters and work out some custom skirts/rearbar to match the front. or go for a more subtle kit to match the fairlane 'class' i love those wheels. Yeh talking to a fibreglasser trying to figure out what to do with the rear bar and how much for it all. and the side moulds, well i had the clear indicators on there as you'd know they come stock. When i got it back from the repairer it had the orange ones on I wasnt happy but they "ditched" them. So needa go buy some new ones get them sprayed and back on. I have been wanting to put them back on, just been a bit lazy. |

loans for mods is a bad idea
if you can afford to pay back the loan, then you can afford to save the money and do bits at a time in the first place. you never know, you might get sick of playing with cars in the next couple years...... and might want something new & boring? |
