Hi all
Well while Im doing the Mav rebuild it has been decided more power is in order.
This will be happening in the next few months , hopefully before the a*** totally falls out of the dollar.
At the moment due to budget it will be staying a 5.0 , but in its future a 347 bottom end from Ford Strokers will be happening.

Im after low and mid range power as it has a fat a*** to move around. I would still like to be able to spin it to 6000 but when playing.

The top end Im thinking of is:
Trickflow 170 Twisted Wedge Heads
Comp Cams XE270HR-12
Comp Cams 1.6 Roller Rockers

Now the question. Which manifold?
I currently have a new style Performer RPM II on the truck now. I also have an explorer manifold sitting in the shed that I can port out the same as the T Moss guide.

For what I am after which manifold would you recommend?

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around!

I think the Explorer would be better for torque than the RPM2

Definately the Explorer, best manifold for sub 5000 rpm.

With the rest of that combo and a stroker in it's future; RPM2. Before the stroker; Explorer.

Exactly my thoughts as well. Even on a pretty reasonable 347 up to 4000-4500 a ported Explorer intake will be in front. If most (90+%) of your driving will be between idle & 4000 then stay with the Explorer. The XE270HR-12 I would suggest running with 1.7 rockers, even if you go the 270HR-14 I would still use the 1.7s
