I've put a fair bit of time and energy into learning about V8's and what you can do to modify or create with them. The more I researched the more I found that the reasons for building an engine a particular way is based on different needs. I currently have no desire to go past a streeter application with plenty of torque and as such a pure horsepower build isn't what I need for a streetable daily driver. I'd be keen to hear what other members' would choose, their reasons for building their desired engine, or, what they have already built.
Is it or was it for street, track or a blend of both? Was there a different need, i.e. it hadn't been done before and you wanted to see if it could be done?

5.0ltr supercharged, all the power you will need relitivly cheaply.

Burnouts burnouts and more burnouts, not interested in going fast. Need I say more :D. A mild 5.0 would do me just fine but a supercharged 5.0 wold be the icing on the cake.

Worked 5L. Call me a traditionalist but i like a very punchy, responsive, angry engine. Big cams and raw power.

Though you can get reliable, larger and more sedate power from larger cubes or forced induction

Plenty of torque for me. Nothing beats when you put your foot down and your body gets thrown into the back of the seat. I peffer a circuit car then anything else though.

Big shiny and silver, and through the bonnet. I'd mess my pants every time I saw that.

Either a blown 420 odd cube in the EL.
Or something along the lines of a twin turbo 331 or thereabouts. Something that will rev out to 7,000rpm would be great!

Basically anything with a stack of torque and the kw figures to match.

Hmm Shotgun, very nice indeed and none of these street heads either, the real deal hemi head.

BTW Vic, stroked 351 Windsors are not big blocks, just big cubes.

385 series and FE series V8's etc are big blocks.
