Hi all,
Im in the process of doing some minor performance upgrades to a bog stock el xr8 opt20. its done a few k's (280,000) but it still runs perfectly and has obviously been well maintained. the first things I have done are to ensure it keeps running well, so its had a full service. oil, oil filter, fuel filter, plugs, leads, distributor cap, rotor button, air filter. full cooling system overhaul including new radiator, coolant, hoses, water pump, thermostat, thermo fans checked and operating well. now Ive started sourcing some bolt on performance goodies.... got some pacemaker extractors and a twin 2.5inch system. bought the 'synergy 5000' intake that was on ebay, its an explorer type manifold with blue (24lb???inj) and 75mm throttle. only other things im planning to do at this stage is to fit some roller rockers, underdrives and a larger MAF. So, my question to the gurus is.... for my setup which size/what sort of MAF should I use? any advice appreciated |

Get an AU V8 MAF, its calibrated for 24 pound injectors so will suit if thats what you have. I'd ditch the 75mm throttle body though, its way too big for your combo. 65mm would be a much better match, or you'll lose torque across most of the rev range.

MAF's are not calibrated for injectors.
It is an old wives tale. To run 24's correctly you need to have the likes of a J3 reprogrammed.

But the transfer curves are more likely to be fairly close though aren't they. Good enough to do the job. Obviously could be fine tuned with a QH or similar. |

The transfer tables are written into the ECU not the MAF.

Use your 19's with an AU 70mm MAF housing and your 55mm electronics to get you going.
Then get a QH and retune for the AU injectors and the actual AU MAF transfer function when you're ready to go that next step. |
