Yella Terra or Crane make some nice, reasonably priced direct bolt on rockers for the 5L. There are adjustable and non-adjustable ones available but witht he adjustable nes you need taller rocker covers and IMO probably don't offer all that much over non-adjustables. The main thing is the rocker ratio, and that is primarily determined by the cam. Standard rocker ratio is 1.6 but 1.72's are also available if you want some extra lift.

The standard non-adjustable ones are fine. The 1.72's should be fine too, do you have a stock cam, if not what are the cam specs?

OK sounds like its just a mild cam, in that case the 1.72's should be fine. The Yella Terra ST2027 1.72 rockers are probably the best quality available for the price, so I would just use them.

VPW has them for $462 which is probably close to the cheapest around. As for power increase, probably around 10kw.

I would be hesitant. A 2030 sounds like a very mild cam with bearly a hint of lope at idle, but a 2030 + 1.72's will result in a fair ole whack of lift, somewhere in the order of 590thou. Better make sure your springs are up to the task.

True its always worth checking the springs and piston/valve clearance with any change to the valvetrain. Hopefully though if they have already fitted a high lift cam, they should have fitted the springs to match, but you never know.

yeah i recently replaced the spring with heavy duty Crow items (reinforced)...not sure bout the piston/valve clearence though...

dont go with the 1.72.. if you dont know your cam lift dont risk it.. stay with 1.65.. besides dyno tests have shown almost all the power increase from increased ratio roller rocker upgrades comes from the fact that you're upgrading to a roller rocker, not the additional cam lift.
rollers good. extra ratio dont matter so much. in your case, with a lumpy sounding cam means its got a bit of duration n stuff alteady(and chances are more than enough lift for your heads).. 1.72s not worth it.

and yeh adjustable only worthit if you gettin funky with pushrod length n stuff. otherwise if you usin stock pushrods and cam base(ie the lowest point is same as stock) then theres no point. rocker geometry is a bastard to get rite, so save ya self time/money/hassle-of-getting-taller-rocker-covers and get non adj ones.
hope dat helps

You gain approx .030 by going to 1.72 rockers..It depends on your heads? If they can flow at those lifts then its worth it..But GT40P heads don't need much over .500 lift ..Restrictive heads go better with duration, good flowing heads flow with lift as well...Lift gereally isn't an issue with piston to valve clearance, its more to do with timing and valve size... GT40P heads are o/k with 2031 cam with 1.60 rockers..But with 2.02 inlet valve the pistons need notching with AFR heads.. TFS heads [Trick flow] with their higher chambers etc don't generally have the same clearance issues with 2.02 inlets valve clearance...In any case it pays to check..Jusy use old gasget and some model clay, turn engine over...Btw a 2030 or 2031 cam will KILL std springs in no time, the bouncing will stretch valve stems and genereally stuff your whole valve assembly if springs arn't set up correctly...
