I would have to say the sound of a 351 is fkn awesome, but i am amazed at how nice the Audi V8s sound

Many people like Clevo's but to me they sound very rattly and metallicy sorta.. Can't really explain it, but not my kind of note probably because I come from a different generation. I have to admit I love the sound of my own engine, but once in full sing a Boss260/290 are very throaty sounding engines.

I service a few Daimler 250's (early 1960s) there have a 2.5lt v8 that has hemi style heads, gutless as hell at low revs but once they hit 3.5-6g there are smooth and powerful. The exhaust note from them at high revs through the standard stainless twin 2inch exaust is awsome. the bastards wont stop leaking oil but thats british cars! rover v8 suffer same fate.

Yeah but I was meaning modern and when a early 3L V6 Pajunko can kick their a*** I think they are gutless, early Spanish wankers were only 12V OHC.

yea, but does the pajero engine date back to the mid 50's?

Sorry for being way off topic but I cannot believe you said this mate. My old esky van standard was rated at 70kW and with half the cylinders.

As for a good "standard" sounding V8, my dads old clevo in his XB when he had it years ago.

I love the sound of my 460!! :D 8-)

Still it has 4 into 1 headers (2 1/4" primaries and 4" collectors) and no mufflers, so it should sound mean.

I can guarantee that I have spent less money on my dragster than many members on here have spent on their cars. :D :D

As for fuel economy. It's a dragster!! Who cares!!! So what if it drinks 5 litres of methanol per 1/4 mile pass.!!  At the last meet, we only did four passes in the day. :(
