As gutless as they are, most Landrover V8s have a good note (they always surprise me), I don't think I have ever noticed a Jag V8 sound, Toyota sounds like a V8, depends on engine etc for Ford, Holden 5.0L have a nice thump and not a fan of most Chev V8s, especially GenIII.

not really gutless..... 100kw from a 3.5L with only a pair of strombergs..... and thats in a engine thats tuned from stock to tow ~2 tonnes of 4x4 around

personally though, i love the sound of the solid cammed 289's and the old school FE big blocks

There is nothing like the sound of a 4V 351 in full anger...

My pick out of unmodified cars would have to be the injected 304. Great sound.

I got a neighbour a couple of doors up with a black 70's Ford F150 truck with a 351 in it and I must say it makes me skip a heart beat as it rumbles and burbles past our house. I test drove a stock as a rock EL XR8 in fantastic condition last year and I must say that 5.0L made an awesome sound and made a lot of people turn heads :D :D :D :D :D :D

Those rover v8's are awsome sounding things. The Holden 304's do sound good too. But what about the ad for the BA XR8 when it came out? whoaaa!

Yeah but I was meaning modern and when a early 3L V6 Pajunko can kick their a*** I think they are gutless, early Spanish wankers were only 12V OHC.

I have to say when the mobile oil leaks were brand new with the 3.5L V8, the engine was the smoothest engine I have ever seen, including Jap, but I bet that didn't last long as brand new.

Landrover used to start with a huge oil puddle then build the vehicle around it.

Bah

my clevo kills the sound of a 304 Dan. Thats what a dual exhaust with only a couple of hotdogs does though

s**t, even the sound of my engine pinging is nicer (or maybe not)

and to think my EL was nice and loud. HAHA.
