It would appear that the US$600 freight charges the speed shops quote may include a very hefty handling charge. Cheers P.s. Pro Comp rockers on a $30k engine??? was there a reason?

While we're off topic i'll just let you know it's costing me U.S. $459 freight for a bunch of stuff from Total Control. I'm getting a bigblock right hand drive power rack, pump kit, forged stub axles, tie rod kit, 9" Torque arm with brackets.

Yes I was expecting that !! The guy who assembled the engine said he had some Crower rockers.. After failure and further inspection.. We found out they are Pro Comp.. The circlips holding the pin in is as weak as piss.. A set of Harland Sharp rockers replaced them... Pro comp copy known brands..

I just rang Eagle and they told me that Patriot heads are spot on 30lbs each. So 60lbs a pair. USPS website quotes 60lbs to Australia at US$312.92... MUCH better than any speed shop quote. So Trickflows at US$1200 + US$313 shipping @ US$0.80 to our dollar totals AU$1891 And who knows, if in California (where I got these US$1200 prices) there is a local tax attatched to these, it shopuld come off making them even cheaper. And to get back on topic. How much are Procomps??

haha there about that i believe i think the 185cc afr heads are 1800 once converted and shipping was 600us but if even they could done for 300 odd that woudl serious be a consideration for the cost

My stuff is going by Schenker which used to be called Bax Global. Of course you'll get slugged Duty and GST plus customs fees because it's over $1000 Aus in value and remember they include the freight cost as part of this "value"....C***!

If you can, keep the packages under $1000. When I buy my heads I will be buying and shipping them seperately. I will buy one and my darlin wife will buy the other (Trickflows, for some reason, seem to be sold seperately in the states) That US$312.92 for 60lb price above was only a bit more expensive if I ship them as seperate 30lb packages, a touch over US$330. Schenker eh. I'll check them out.

I have used Schanker before, watch out for extra slug charges, this company, well any custom clearance mob make easy money, we are in the wrong game.

I got the last lot of TCP stuff via them.....They had the same charges that any other company has when doing this stuff except the freight cost was cheaper in the first place. These freight companies sure are robbers though.

No good for you but next time I import it will be by slow boat, 2yrs ago it was $100 for heads in shipping container if freighted to the Californian port or parts separated for under 40 pound packages via air freight.

Looked into sea freight...it actually works out more expensive because they now charge by m3 as well as weight!?! If the parts you have don't fit in a cubic metre they charge for another one!? Pricks!
