How can you legally register a carby V8 into a car that was EFI?

Theres LPG but how much antipollution s**t would you need on a petrol carby 351?

to run unleaded and carby in an EB...... run all the emissions s**t that an EB has, plus take it for a full emissions test...... it's cheaper to run straight LPG or chuck a 5.0L in there

A bit of Holley Pro injection perhaps? - that would be nice. Or any EFI Manifold. Thats if you want petrol.

you're still gonna be up for all the emissions tests cos it's an older model engine in a later model car..... only way around it IIRC is dedicated gas

Im pretty sure going back to carby from EFI is illegal.. and LPG or not, may need emission testing/engineering.

Cheers

as far as i am aware you are allowed to put a later engine in a older car but not a older engine in a newer car. why do you want an old clevo for any way? injected windsor would be just as good and be more reliable

There are a few 351 E series Falcons over here. One has a Cleveland with a thermoquad and it's legal.
Why would you want a cleveland over a windsor? Easy, more power without too much to buy for one! and a Windsor is not more reliable for another! plus it just bolts in the same place. Only one pipe from off the shelf pacemaker headers needs modifying to fit too!
You can put an older engine in an new car if it meets the emissions target of the car. Adapting a 351W EFI intake to the Cleve is also a doable trick with the added advantage of lower deck height hence easier bonnet clearance than a 351W conversion.

My sentiments exactly. As far as I'm concerned you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't when it comes to legality. So just do it anyway!

I never actually thought of this.........351 cleveland in my el fairmont.....Now that would be nice!!!

So know quick question, What exactly would have to be done to make it legal?

Also what happens with the electrical side of things?

Would you guys appreciate a detailed article on 351W & C into E-series Falcons?
It seem this question gets asked an awful lot these days.
