HI there

I'm in the very slow process of doing up an xy sedan i bought many years ago. I am thinking of putting 5.4 xr8 or GT motor and trans into it and was wondering whether it will fit. Has anyone done this before and how would i go hooking up speedo and tacho into xy gt dash. Also is there any internal differance between the 260kw and the higher rated motors or is it the computer etc.

Already have an xy ute with a mild 351 clevo in it and was thinking of doing something a bit different with the sedan. Although there is a bloke on ebay with a 400hp 351 windsor crate motor for sale that could be an option

There are a few differences between 260 and 290+ engines. Mostly piston and cam differences.
These engines will just fit in an XA-up engine bay but, XY and earlier means chopping shock towers.
It will be much easier to go the 351W route and use an EECIV from a Mustang or EB-D 5.0 Falcon to run it.
