If your going Aftermarket block then you will have to do the same unless you do other things to get it passed which alot of people do these days I want my car to be fully engineered the proper way so i dont have any drama's Blocks dont mean anything, and you can use any year block you wish, as it does not affect anything. Emissions will only have to be as good as the engine you were replacing, which is prettty easy with adjusted cam timing, and a lean tune. In QLD all you have to supply the engineer with is a dyno run showing A/F and that will suffice, so you know how to work with that. Possibly register car here, then transfer rego if its too hard in NSW. NSW RTA will not accept Qld engineers reports.

You wont need one if the car is registered, and its a simple registration transfer.....I used to live in NSW...... |

Even the interstate current rego'd grey imports are required to get a report from a NSW approved signatory now days when transferring rego. I have seen dozens of modified and import cars from interstate that have been required to get a NSW report.

I dont know about the power figures he gets or anything like that. All I know is that out of the cars that I've sent his way (some low comp turbo donks as well), he has never failed to get a car to pass. I have never got any negative feedback about him. But he does know how to charge $$$. As for INSIGHT, the name does ring a bell ( I tried to have a look for some shots of his shop on his website to jog my memory, but there were'nt any) , but I dont remember dealing with him, so I really cant comment.

Thats pretty cool but would the tuner send it to the manufacterer and get them to lock the ECU or the tuner can do it???

I doubt the tuner would lock the ecu if u have a tune where its a street/race tune and know emmisions is through the roof and all.

I am just saying, an aftermarket ECU can be engineered, the tuner has the lock/unlock code, it is assessed, and then the ECU is locked. That is the way you go about getting it engineered. What the RTA is looking for is the fact that it cant be tampered with by the owner AFTER it has passed its emmissions test. My 8860 comes with a letter from the manufacturer to state it is locked and cant be changed by me.
