If want a 460 it can be done but at a cost ,rrs have got shock tower notching kits for $2 50 to $300 then there is install but will give you the room you need . www.rrs-online.com. check my pics i have done this to my mustang .you can also fit a strut front end if you wish but as i said it is'nt cheap

For f**k sake.....both engines fit easy. 460's are cheap as and you can get the headers and mount kit from Pacemaker....you don't need to chop your shock towers!
A 460 is very driveable on the street but a 5.0 will certainly handle better. And an EFI 5.0 is going to be more driveable than a carbed one because it will have more torque at lower rpm which is why you'd be a fool not put it in with EFI especially when it's already got it! |

I knew everyone else couldn't see you having a laugh, I think you need to add an emoticon next time I wish I had a picture of a mates XD Ghia he fitted a 460 and C6 into, it had a stock 4 barrel intake, painted black with stock looking silver tappet covers, stock exhaust manifolds and the original 5.8L air cleaner assembly fitted, as it was a genuine V8 the cops had no idea, this was in QLD were at the time it was illegal to fit a big block to a Falcon. If you weren't a Ford nut most wouldn't have a clue it wasn't factory.

how much trouble will i have to go through to wire up the injection, obviously ecu and harness etc,i dont really want to spend 1000s of dollars just to wire it up for injection when i can put a carb on it,it would be nice but cost factor scares me a bit when you have to take it to a performance shop

Do it yourself....it isn't difficult. Especially when you have the whole setup from an NC....you could retain the BTR gearbox too. To change to a carb you'll need a new distributor(with a steel gear), intake and the carb of course....that won't cost nothing. |

Do it yourself. If I can do it, anyone can. Well at least anyone who can solder two wires together.
The exhaust and accesories were the tedious part if you ask me. Does the NC have smartlock? If not it is easy. |

being an nc i would assume it would have smartlock

Not if it's an early one. You can always use a non-smartlock EEC or I could do you a chip to turn it off. Or you could grab a U.S. EEC which don't have smartlock and will give a more aggressive calibration because of the lighter Mustang body. |
