Auto or manual?

These are standard ECU's not XR, but nonthless should work fine.

EF
4DDG (manual)
4DED (auto)
4DEG (auto)
4DKF (auto) - Police

Not completely sure is EL type works in the EF.
EL
6DFC (manual)
6DFD (manual)

The EF V8's for some reason had a huge number of ecu variants - 15 that I've found so far.

Manual (All) = 4DDB - 4DDF
Auto (non XR) = 4DEB - 4DEG
Auto (XR) = 4DKB - 4DKF

Is the car auto or manual?
Just had a look at a 6KDA bin and it's an auto.

Pete, what's the 6DKA out of? It's EL, I take it. Non-XR8?

If the 6DKA is out of an EL 185kw auto, I have an EF XR8 ECU Id happily swap for it ;).

That is an EL Ecu - unless it has a J3 chip with EF Code. The issue you'll have is that it doesnt drive the cooling fans correctly - it only controls 2 lines - and the EF Fans require control on 3

The EF V8 ecu has 4 fan control circuits

No, EF V8 has 4 relays controlled by 4 wires from the ecu.

I can't remember Chad, It's in my EF section so it must be from an EF/NF/DF. Possibly NF/DF?
It shares most data locations with a 4DDG which is definitely EF.
Do you want the bin?

I thought EF V8s were all 4xxx, while EL V8s were all 6xxx. There ya go! Could you email me that bin and an EF XR8, if you have it? Is 4DDG out of an XR8?

Yeah so did I but I have at least one '96 EF that I've got a bin dump out of so, it's possible there were some with a "6" prefix. I suppose one thing, strategy wise, would be to check whether the fans on the car have the EF 2 speed motor or not? The 6DKA I didn't look at of course.
I emailed you a bunch of bins anyway.

Yeah I think so. From memory there's no difference in the calibration.
