Hey guys
I am currently in the process of fitting a 5.0L to my XH using a donor car (DL LTD 1997).
Everything seems straight forward as far as mounting engine and box but im after the info for the wiring side.
Will loom marry up to existing XH loom and will smartlock etc. work?

Good question. Following because I want to do the same with a panelvan. I have factory workshop manuals for the XH and also EL if you need any wiring diagrams.

It wont marry up.

The EF and EL differ from the XH in that they have a seperate harness on the inside of the firewall, over the heaterbox. The V8 harness for this location includes the wiring for the TCM. It has an additional connector over the I6 harnesses as well.

You will need to think about how/where you will locate the TCM. If you are running a Manual then this problem is much reduced.

Either way - you are looking at a very interesting wiring job.

Nope.

Transferring Ltd dash is really hard. The Zhang is more xf than e series. Nothing fits or just bolts in

I did an efi 5.0 into an xf. Custom harnesses and it works out neat

The au 5.0 is actually easier to fit as it integrates the time to the ecu just like the i6's
