HI all
iv got a 97 xh series 2 xr6 i was considering turbo-charging it but i got a slightly worked 351 cleveland it the garage so in changed my mind and want to put it in. Iv found a efi conversion kit on the net i was just wondering what is involved on the installation ie. is the standard 6 cyl manual gearbox compatible would I have to change the diff, tail shaft ect. thanx |

lots of work mate putting a 351 in a xh??? is the payoff going to be worth it with a efi 351 over turboing the i6??? turboing would be the cheapest outcome and would go alot better i think.but good luck with the conv whichever way u go

Most of this applies to your cleveland.
ford-v8-f2/351w-into-xe-ute-t9411.html The way to go will be to get a donor V8 XH wreck and transfer the bits across. The V8 T5 will handle the 351 for a little while and if it lasts a long time you're not driving it hard enough. 5.0 Engine mounts and bellhousing will bolt up to the cleveland but you'll need a 157T flywheel in 28oz for the cleveland. TFS are releasing an R-series EFI intake for clevelands. You'll need a 351W TFI-IV distributor with the gear changed to a cleveland one or a 460 TFI-IV dizzy will drop straight in but most need a remote TFI or you can mod the housing to put it back on the side. The stock 5.0 EECV will run the cleveland and the 5.0 harness will fit the engine without mods. Just write 5.0 on top of the intake and don't tell anyone what it really is You can get it to pass emissions but you'll likely need ally heads like CHI and a hyd roller conversion. A turbo 6 is boring. Cheers! |

You will even be struggling to get a Clevo Engineered on straight LPG in an XH now.
They were not real keen when I was going to put one in my 92 XF ute.

Guess what ECU that massflo system uses Gavin?....An EECIV. You can do far better with a multipoint setup for less money!

iv been thinkin wat iv been told wat is the difference between the standard 220kw AUIII engine and the TE TS 50 engine i know its been stroked to a 5.6L so any info is great and wat wiring harness difference is there between to XH XR8 to AUIII
thanks |

There are considerable differences in wiring between those two models. I've done an AU 220 engine into an XH...it's a big job adapting the AU EECV into the XH. You could stick with XH EECV to run the AU engine but you need to be able to run with a distributor for that so a TS 5.6L engine, with it's unique intake does not have clearance for a dizzy.
