Hey guys. Just recently bought myself an XH2 V8 Ute. The Splash version is that means anything.
I have noticed that I can only get 300 Kms out of a tank of fuel. the ute has done approx 170000 k's Some other things i have noticed is sometimes it smelly fummy out the exhaust, but does not use any oil. When i start it the fan starts on the windows before moving to the setting. It has a really loud exhaust with only 2 hot dogs at mufflers. Took it to my mechanic and put it on the diagnostic things and it came up with no errors. Could no back preassure on the exhaust cause bad fuel?? Any ideas??? |

Check the plugs,air filter,fuel filter,02 sensors,maf sensor(may need a clean) and go from there.When did it last have a service?low backpressure on a v8 shouldnt harm fuel economy.Also premium or ultimate fuel will help fuel economy.dont use regular unleaded.

serviced a couple of months ago.
Wouldnt it put up an error on the diagnostic check if it was a sensor??? |

Cool thanks how do i test the sensors to see if they are crap or not??
Or should I just replace em??? |

that is just a lack of vacuum. mine does it all the time!

my xr8 was doing hte same thing.
i changed the O2 sensors. seemed to work |

02 sensors only last 100000km then they need replacing,clean the maf with co contact cleaner or similar electrical cleaner,was the fuel filter changed with the service,if not change that too
