Windsors will fit no troubles but clevo's wont unless you chop the struts as you stated they are very narrow.

there goes the clevo idea then, we dont wanna be chopping and changing stuff, just after a simple bolt in conversion. might have to start trying to source out some windsor stuff

I've yet to see a clevo in a street registered xp before, i'm not doubting it hasn't been done but I can't imagine it, my brother has got a 65 tudor fitted with a 289 windsor and single rail 4sp, he done his conversion about 28 odd years ago when there were no conversion kits. He made up all the engine mounts himself and modified a set of mustang extractors to shoehorn it in there very tight sqeeze. XPs came out with windsors as standard but werent released in Australia, only in the U.S they were taged Sprints, exact same engine bay just different front sheetmetal.

I have an XP ute with a 351W in it and its the only way to go. Its a bit tight with space, but it hauls a**. C4 bolts up fine in the tunnel, youll just need a custom crossmember. Castlemaine rodshop shop supplie these.
I also used the front end out of an XW V8 falcon for all the brakes and spindles to use for the to keep the rego guys happy. |

I'm yet to belive that much power is possible out of such a simple combo reliably. i was thinking more along the lines or 302 roller block, stock stroke, Trickflow street heads and manifold with T trim vortech. Or if you want a retro boss motor use CHI EM185 heads and low riser manifold with Aftermarket computer (ditch the MAF) and run the T trim vortech. |

this is a little bit off topic i know, but i am currently turboing my 250 2v in my xp sedan. Used a large Holset H1C for those in the know in a blow through configeration.
I also have a XL delivery van (windowless) that will be getting a 302 and a blow through turbo set up. |
