Get an XR6T, better. cheaper and spend little money and get big performnce.


If you want V8 get LS1, better.

If your a ford man true and true i reckon for the cash gotta go XR6T

LS1 better than the quad cam 32 valve V8 Boss??? Not bloody likely! :lol:

go the auto and when you get the tune they would have taken care of the rev limiter i have a custom tune in my ba xr8 and it hits 6200 safe no harm done as the engine is still producing torque at this rev range 90km/h 1st 147km/h 2nd and 205km/h 3rd gear and thats with a 4 speed auto these engines have alot of torque passed 3000 rpm and if you can use it youll be impressed on what they can do

Unopened Boss manuals are into the low 13's................edit(mine pulls 6200rpm with edit too),2nd CAI,good headers and exhaust...........go the Boss!

Thats what the last boss owner said when he lined me up and got his a*** whomped..

My close friend has a boss 290 GT-P. He drove mine, he said (actual words)

"I thought mine had some power, but after yours mine is a slug" lie a good stereo, its the best sound you will ever hear until you hear better.

Ive never seen a comparo when the boss 260 or a 290 beat an LS1 in speed. never

well, I put mine to the test.
1st, a waste of time even bothering
2nd like it was on a wet road
3rd ,when the limiter cut in at 6700rpm it just felt natural
4rth, usually a good indicator of grunt, picked up rpm like it was on wet road, then hit limitor?
5th was next under normal conditions, so I gave it a go, and succeeded to hit the limitor once again
6th.......... the f**k clutch started to slip, but still had them going
So what you say? try that standing on the spot with a decent set of 245/40/ZR18''s in any "almost" standard car!

I'd still be keen on the VT2 SS ftw :P.

And EBV8 gotta agree with you, my uncle has a VZ SS with a straight through twin pipe remus exhaust (other than that it's a stock 5 speed auto), and I've been with him as we mauled several Boss's, including the GT.

In those same comparisons, have you ever seen an LS1 beat a Boss for all round ability. No? Neither have I!!! :twisted:

Don't even get me started on the F6 or the XR6T going head to head with your oil burners! Spend the same money an a T as you've spent on your Oiler and guess which one will win in those straight line drags you're so fond of???

Why don't you post this sort of thing elsewhere. I hear there is a really good site where plenty of people enjoy talking s**t:
