5.4L vs 6.0L, pretty simple mathematics, especially considering the weight advantage of the hsvs.
Do yourself a favour and buy an xr6turbo and spend the difference on a front mount and edit.

Don't underestimate the Boss motors.. with some breathing mods and an edit done you'll dip well into the low 13 second bracket.. not exactly sluggish!

yea ppl are running 13.4's and quicker with some good breathing and custom edits.

My car has 13.6's in it, last run i did was a 13.72, with only breathing mods, and off the shelf edit, still needs a custom one

Well, how hard would it be to convert the boss 260 into the boss 290 engine or are they too different?

The boss 290 has different heads from the mustang cobra, which have straighter inlet ports, and the cams are different, BUT the boss 260 can be upgraded to 320kw by fitting a good exhaust, a better air filter and custom tuning with a capa flash tuner, cost is around $3500
The main prob with BA XR8's & GT's in standard trim is not the power of the engine ,but the rev limiter which is set at 5250 rpm, this cuts fuel & spark to the motor
once edited it can be set wherever is best (mines at 6300rpm which made a s**t of difference when racing similar powered cars)

haha, anone know what the rev limiter is for the XR6T?
dad got his up to 7000 then slammed the sequential s**t the wrong way. i think they actuly swapped the direction it went for the series 2's??? anyway, its stupid, but year, he got his to 7000, dropped the stick the wrong way, but the car wouldnt change until the revs came down... smart system.

I thought the XR6t limiter was 6 or 6500?
XR8 has more potential? Not for the price of the car/mods.
