hey guys my bro has a 90 model XF ute, and the rear main looks to be the culprit of a pretty severe oil leak, are these common to go?, are they the rope variety like early models or a neoprene version like EB onwards?,

They are a one piece seal .normally last well ,check your rocker cover gasket they leak down the back of the engine & you think its the rear seal.

ah okay there a cork gasket arn't they? Yeah crawled under it and there oil everywhere thanks mate will try that and let you know.
