I am now the proud owner of a 91 xf panel van, I have not statarted any work on her yet, since it lives at my parents. So the build will be slow. I have not got any pictures yet either, but all in due time. Just something I want to ask, before getting too deep in, what differences are there in the xf's built after 89? Anything I should be weary of?

Okay, o have some photos of the car, but work can't start yet, since there is a lack of shed space at the moment, here is what sort of condition she is in... And where the major rust lies... If you have experience with these could you offer some onsite as to just how bad this rust could be?

Sadly after closer inspection, the van is worse than was first thought.. she is starting to rust just about everywhere, and what it is going to cost to replace a lot of the everything underneath it, it is not really worth it... Still tossing up what to do... But I think I might just put her aside find another one in better condition and use this one for parts

After much deliberatio, I thought f**k it, I will go through with this... I also have a question... Is there much difference in the bellhousing for the crossflow and the 4l because a mate of mine has an auto xg that got written off and I was thinking of putting the engine, but I don't want the auto and the van already has a 5 speed in it. So is it possible to use the box that is already in there with the 4.0l engine?

it has been a while, but work on the old girl has finally commenced... the rust repairs are well underway, and the a bit of the interior has come out, i wont have photos for a while, as my phone has just s**t its self, and was my only camera, but as soon as i can i will get some photos up.
ive got an xg ute, and am going to be doing a full running gear transplant, including the diff and disk breaks.if anyone has some experience or advice they would like to share befoer i start on he mechanical side of things it would be much appreciated. And one more thing, i have the option of the standard xf front bar, or a bumper, ill put pics up of both when i can, but in your opinion, which do you think would look best?
