I am wanting to run a big set of 4X4 tyres on my XF ute, try too fill up those wheel arches a bit. I have a set of 15's, think their off a EL. has anyone done this before? if so any idea how big I can go before it scrapes? 31X10.5 would be great.

I've seen it done before... like on a car going down the road. I know the EL rims will fit... no idea about everything else though.

Yep, EL rims are a definate goer, I was driving around with them for a couple of months before a lack of tread meant I had to change them.

i dont think you will fit 31's under an xf without some angle grinder work

I had an XF van fitted with 225/70R15s they looked great and didnt take that much to fit.

We had to roll the wheel arches and weld a bolt on the left hand suspension to stop the wheel turning too far (the tyre would rub on the fuel lines). I also had to do a little bit of grinding but that was before i put in the bolt, so it may not have been necessary.

Obviously with that stopper in place your already terrible turning circle will get much worse, but on the upside you can drive over alot more stuff

I've just got a new van and I intend to give a similar upgrade (after its been over the pits)

just a matter of getting a set of larger springs reset and fitted to jack up the car, even if only a couple of inches.
