Hi,
I have a xh xr6 that i put a 5ltr in it that was out of a nf fairlane i also put all the dash to front of the car in it to. I have now found the airing light is on the cluster but was not in when everything was in the fairlane i think the reason the light is on because i turned the engine on when i had the clock spring disconnected. I have looked at the diagnostic procedure that is in the tech docs i have carried it out but was unsuccessful. Question is do i have to have a audio unit with all the speakers fitted to clear the codes Regards Gavin |

Did u try clearing the code again? If the code doesn't clear there is still a problem somewhere. Get your fault code and run thru the airbag diagnostics chart it may not be the clockspring

You may need to use the Fairlane's BEM.....it will be a high series one....the XR8 one will be a mid series one.

I'm running a Fairlane cluster with a Futura (Mid series) BEM and I have no issue with the Airbag light. It's an issue with the Airbag system, if the code won't clear you need to rectify the fault the code is giving you.

I've never heard of having to have a fully connected operating stereo in order to clear codes. As far as I know , as others and myself have already stated getting fault fixed then clearing fault
