Best idea yet, put a switch in either of the wires to the coil. Unless they figure it out, the car wont start. If the power wire is switched, and they realise no power is getting there, they can run one straight to the coil +ve and it will bypass it. Another idea is to short the -ve side to earth via a switch. That way, if they put power straight to the coil, itll fry, and wont run, and anything they try after that will be useless.

some guy last week got done for driving a vb commodore un-licenced and unregistered without a steering wheel.
he was using a spanner to steer it, because his wife put a club lock on it.

Ya never know though. Mines only a tidy eb, yet someone somewhere would have a crack at stealing it. Every bit of security has to be a help!

im with xcabbi, just remove the engine and trans dipsticks.
If theres no dipstick, they're not going to start it, and will most likely move on to the EA parked next to it :)

Here's one for you I used to do...Chain around the brake pedal to a big assed padlock on the steering wheel.

Or the simplest of the lot- cut into your coil wire, fit a switch under a guard or something so that switch in one direction is normal coil out put, other direction either grounds or powers the horn, depending on how you wire it, what you cut...I have this on my current xb sooo, if u open the door, it sounds the horn - better with air horns, even better again if you can set up a latching relay so the horn stays on even if you shut the door again - you could probly get even more fancy with a timer that auto resets the whole thing, or, like mine, it just keeps going - I'd rather risk coming back to a flat battery than coming back to an empty parking spot....

If these "car thieves" are soo so so desperate to steal your wheels, you could have all the protection in the world, and if they steal it, then they steal it. Have a good amount of insurance behind you - like fire and theft, market or agreed value.

you don't want market value unless you drive a bog stock POS you don't mind NOT being able to replace.
