transplanting the whole engine/driveline/suspension into the XC would probably modifiy it to the extent of making it a ICV/new car..... hope you have an understanding engineer and deep pockets

A NA Fairlane Digi Dash might also be another interesting option too.
I think they may have come in some EA-ED Fairmonts too...

you really would need to find a decent wreckers that will let you play with any XA-XC's and EA-EL ect dashes. Its not worth buying a dash only to find it doesnt physically fit. Maybe if you go down and give them a slab thell let you try and do a changeover with 2 cars they have in the yard.

hey check out the latest street machine i think, someone asked the same quaestion somewhere there and from memory the only real prob would be adjusting the width with filler panels and making sure the edges of the dash where they meet the doors fit ok.
It would be a big task but depends on how much you think it is worth it. are you going to build it as a unique show car or just a cool mod? it would be very possible if you found someone with the fabricating skills and the right engineer.
find the coupe first eh though, one less left in perth since my brother bought his XB GS and shipped it back to melbourne!!!

ba dash may should be possible there is a xy goin around with a xr8 ef/el full dash, cluster seats door trim and engine but it ruins the look man i say if u have a ba have a ba keep iot a ba and when you have a xc coupe man youd want to keep it as originakl as possible cause youll ruin it keep it original and it will keep it value alot more and man xc coupe dont just come of the shelf any more so youd want it to be a xc

just go back to ariginal condition because ask any ford lovers when its original it something you want no a fake one

think about it like this you have a xy gt ho and you put in the ba dash it just fuks the look up back so yea thats my opinion dude

Ok then. Sounded to me like he wanted to do this mod for his own satisfaction, he dnt care if no1 else likes it.

Jerome, checkout carsales.com.au they have a coupe on there now and again, and australianmusclecarsales.com.au, thses guys are huge ripoffs on fords, but if your despo for a coupe, these guys always have atleast 10 for sale, also, Eric's car centre sydney has afew coupes, they are all stripped out and basically shells tho, but yea, u'd prettymuch be down to a shell with what you intend to replace anyway. hope that helped ya man, keep us up-to-date with it good luck :D

The beauty of the coupe's is the simplicity. Personally just a tidied up interior would look better then the BA Dash. And 4 the running gear same as my first opinion. The running gear is just so raw and that wats makes them a classic and wat they are.

The BA/BF falcons used a CAN (controller area network) communications signal to drive the instrument cluster from the computers. There is no speedo sensor in the gearbox, so you would have trouble driving it. Also the engine sensors come via the geabox. There is no "tach signal wire", that comes on CAN too.

CAN is used extensively in industrial automation systems.

In the end you need the entire BA/BF driveline, body computer, ABS system etc. Will get very hard and very expensive.

If you want something different, go completely custom.

PS the E-Series dash would be easy to put in, if you really wanted to go that way. All the sensors can be bolted to X series hardware (engine/transmission etc).
