Oh well ill try again i spose. oh ok then ..... any way i thought that the door hinges sag or something thus making you lift the door or something

when i had my xf i ended up gathering all the bits of the dooe handle and placing it all back together and drilling a hole through where the pop ribbit was put and bultting it back together and re fitting they always turned out just like new.

They normally work better than a new one, cheap a*** aftermarket know this too, but where would sales be if they fixed them better. When XGCOWBOY fits a new correct door handle replace the door hinges, check if the latch and striker needs replacing (likely), adjust the door properly and lubricate. Door will be a little finger opener if adjusted correctly (XG/XH uses E series door latches), not quite as good as an AU onwards but what do you expect.

I had the same issue with my XF ute and now with the new XD. What i did was go out and got 2 EF/EL rear door handles. I used a drill and tin cutter and cut out the indentation where the original handle goes and then placed the EF handle where i wanted it. Marked some new holes, drilled them a few mill bigger then what was needed (allows for a bit of adjust) and then put it all together. Now i have Rear EF door handles all round and dont have the problem with the s**t door handles breaking and they look better too.

I reckon the Ford XD,XE,XF,XG,XH Metal door Handles is the only product in the whole world, which defies the fact of "Metal being better then plastic"
I have 2 EB2's= not once (touch wood) have I ever broken one of those plastic handles.... Iv'e had an XD & an XE.........both had handles replaced NUMEROUS times..... so.........the "classic not plastic" saying just f**k itself in the a**!! true?

Had the same probs with my old xf. Get a new handle and where the rivet is on the pivot drill it out, then replace with a matching screw and lock nut. Then grease everything up. Never had to replace another handle for 3 years till I sold it, compared to every couple of months........problem fixed

Repco gave me the choice of the standard $12 one, or a steel one for $40...
Either way, its lifting, not pushing down, so im in the same annoying situation where I have to drill... I love my cars though, leaks and all. First On Race Day.
