Hi All,
I may have mentioned this once before, but I am in the process of trying to remove the dash in my XF ute, and have successfully removed the crash pad, centre control panel, instrument panel, air vent setc, but now I am stuck on the ducting part, which is the last bit. Everything is completely removed and the only thing holding it in is the support for the Hand Brake. The hand brake bolt has been taken off, but there is a small hook that holds the hand brake to the dash that is stopping the ducting from coming out. Does anyone know how to get past this bit? Regards, Chris

You didn't need to take it apart like that. They come out wholus-bowlus.
You undo the bolts/nuts that hold the steering column to the bottom of the dash, and the parkbrake handle assembly (on the floor too, for the P/brake). Take centre console out. Disconnect wiring plugs on both sides, there are more on the drivers side. Remove glovebox. There you will see a steel cable that is clipped in 2 places, this moves the heater flap, disconnect this, and Vacuum plug (has a lot of colours the tubes). Also disconnect the plug for the fan, i think red & black wires on it. Along the top of the dash is 5 phillips head screws, undo these LAST. Remove the kick panels, there you will find a 10mm headed bolts at the bottom of the dash, undo those, and a vacuum line to the drivers side vent. Where the centre console meets the centre dash, at the bottom is 2, 10mm headed bolts, undo these. Now do the 5 screws, and take out dash assembly. The Evapourator case will remain behind as with the fresh/recirc vent, and the fan is on the back of the case. Is this what you want to know?

Whats the best way to put the dash back in? I've done it before and it was near impossible to align it. Would it be to put the screws in across the top and then the two 10mm bolts on either side at the bottom?
