I have just been given a 87 EFI manual XF sedan goes great its straight fuel, and has a bad problem takes foe ever to start when cold and not as bad but still hard to start when warm.. However once it starts it runs well (a slight rough patch at idle)

Things im trying to work out is if it is
*Injectors?
*Fuel Reg
*Fuel Pump
*TPS

you cant just keep winding you have to wind for a couple of seconds then stop and try again.... This goes on for about 5 mins till it starts (if you press the acc pedal its goes as if it floods and wont start at all.

Things that I noticed when i was looking for vacuum leaks
*when idling and you remove the OIL cap on the rocker cover it dies unless you rev the motor up but goes really ruff (could it be a stuffed PCV valve or something)
*has new dizzy, leads, rotor, cap, coil and another manual ecu out of another EFI xf

Any help would be great as its starting to annoy me what it could be?

Have you looked at the engine oil dip stick???...they had an orange coloured seal on it.
When in good condition, the engine will stall even if you pull the dip stick out.
How is the little rubber tube near the throttle body???...they swell up and don't seal.

These engines r vacumned sealed, u let any air in, thats it. Could be the fuel regulator, very exy if bought new, get 1 from a wrecker for 10-15 bucks, right up to an ef fits..my fuel pump played up wasnt getting the correct amount of current to it....bad earth... also there is the ISC valve, it sits at the rear of the rocker cover, take it off and clean, or replace..
