hi all
I am trying to do a little research into the history of my beloved 84 FD LTD, and there is a few things on the build plate im not really 100% sure on.
the body number is my main concern, ltds of this era are ment to have the last 3 digits as **238, mine is **237
i got a couple of workshop manuals (original ford ones) and they dont seem to be much help at working out what it means.
does anyone here know what it might mean.
the rest of the plate seems to match up to whats on the car.
engine number matches build plate too - always a good thing.
cheers in advance

Contact Ford themselves, surely someone will be able to help.

i have a 1980 model ltd and it has T stamped under engine and that means that it was released with a 351 4v engine, as i can see on yours is that you have that too but the v8s were finished in 1980 so are you sure you have the right date?
