Yes it's me again, new computer this time so it better work.
solved crossmember problem but now need information about gearstick. Problem is the dam nylon thread, we are looking for a better way to keep gearstick in the gearbox, better than using wire that is, there must be an after market device that can do the job or is it possible to replace the nylon thread with a metal one? does anyone know anything that would help. |

there's got to be a better way? first to second was great but third was a hand full ( of gearstick ) followed by blind panic as he tried to get it back in ( on the move ) funny how it just pulls out like that.

i have seen people make a plate with a hole in it that fits over the gear stick and thet made it rap over the sides and then used small self tappers, and that stoped it from poping out.

you can replace the nuts easily. oversize metal ones used to be available. if you undo the circlip, and slide the nut out of the way, you can see a rubbery ball. cut this off on an angle, then replace the nut. refit the ball and clip. refit stick, do skids.

I used wire crossed it over the top of the nylon/flare and under the box,
never bothered me again.

There is a bloke on eBay who machines and sells alloy nuts to replace that nylon one.
Usually sell for about $40 but seem like they would sort things out pretty well. Cheers.

Went to ebay and found the nylon replacement nut but unable to locate the guy that makes the metal one (too much grey hair getting in the way)
