Hey all, i was recently changing the spark plugs in my XF falcon. All of them go in well, except for the last one does not want to screw in. I spent over an hour trying to work it out as I need to get the last plug in. Has anyone else had this problem, if so any help at all would be great

have you tried using a different plug? and see if that one will screw into another cylinder?
should tell you then if its a head problem or a plug problem

dont force it, last thing u want to do is ruin the heads thread, spray some wd-40 on the hole to dislodge any grime as it screws in.

Alright, i've come to the conclusion that its the thread thats rooted Where oo i go from here?

You remove the cyl head and take it to a machinist to be fixed.

carefully rethread it using a air-compressor, grease and a vacuum or whatever to stop crap getting in the cylinder then.......helicoil!
OR try getting it in knowing its stuffed with a little thread locker, Then zip tie the lead on tightly and make sure the lead itself is secured. cos if she goes pop.. she'll dent ya bonnet. This is just a patch up if you need to use the car and want to pause the repair for a while.

and if you use the first method, and let bits of metal filing fall in, your probably gonna destroy your engine so take good care.

Hey thanks alot for all your help guys, appreciate it Just managed to get it to screw in with some very minor tapping/hammering whilst screwing in. Seems to go in and out fine now, so i'll see how we go

I was running the EBII on 5's for a coulple of days this week as a result of #6 plug failing due to a leak in the head gasket as was common on all alloy head type of engines.
I ended up replacing all the plugs after running the motor for a couple of days & the old chemiweld trick that buys you some time. When I replaced the plugs I put some loctite 711 antisize grease on the threads of the plugs in the hope that it wont be a bugger to remove them in the future, especially the #6 plug that I alway have problems with.
