Ride: Ford Longreach Ute OutBack

Location: Dapto
NSW, Australia

Got a set of Pacemaker extractors with 2.5" system on my XG 4.0ltr(EB engine)+ a hi-torque cam. Before dialling in the cam with a dial indicator,it would surge at hot idle and sometimes stop. After dialling in the cam,it now only gets a hot idle surge. Is this because the ECU is trying to re-configure itself and adjust all the new sensor readings?Any thoughts appreciated. But the performance has drastically improved. It's a totally different ute to drive now! :)
P.S. Should have added, that the cam is a Crow with the Hi-Torque that was given to me by a mate who
was wrecking his '95 EB.
