Well, that won't get you far. Extractors, exhaust, cam, roller rockers, Redline manifold and a 500 holley. That would be pushing it. And maybe only 130-140rwkw

130 to 140 rwhp ??????......must be a towing cam then ?????
This had 275 rwhp.
Headers, 3" exhaust, Crow cam, Redline 4 barrel intake, 600 Holley, roller rockers, MSD ignition, and a regraphed dizzy, and a p&p head, with 10:1 CR on pump 98, and was pulling to 6,500 rpm.

Again, depends on how far ya wanna go.

and he had a max of $2000. I said 500 holley, no MSD, standard dizzy, standard head, standard comp. What you said above would've been about $5000

At the time, the guy was lucky, he already had a 4 bbl intake, ( wasn't fitted ), the engine was existing with a middle of the road cam, and a 2 bbl Weber on it.
We did however got the head shaved, ( the donk had flat top pistons in it already ), got a Crow Cam, valve springs and a timing chain set, roller rockers, MSD 6AL, and I had a few 600 Holleys sitting around, he had some too, just fitted it with a rear power plate, and centre float bowls, and cut out the choke horn, and rekitted it.
I regraphed the dizzy, and altered the internals of the mechanical fuel pump, as well as p&p'd the head as well as port matching the intake to the head.
We are both mechanics, but I know how to modify stuff, he doesn't, so I learned him up a bit.
It would light up a pair of 265/70R15's in 2nd gear, and chirp it good into 3rd.
It had a singlerail 4sp, and a 2.92 LSD with disc's.
We put those tyres on it to give it some traction, the 235/45R17's weren't cutting it.
I think we spent about $2,000 doing what we did.....that was in 2006.

Yeah....I know......it's still a case of how fast do ya wanna go......and what do you expect for the money spent ??????

Spend 2 grand on the wrong stuff/place, and there could be huge disapointments.
