AFAIK a lot of the police chaser/highway partol cars copped the Ghia headlights, ESP chin spoiler, and 351/auto, etc, so they were about as close to n ESP as you could get without gertting all the luxury stuff...... plus they were essentially the only other way of getting a factory 351 in an XE
