i was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the idleing rough even when it is warm it drives fine its only when its idleing it feels like its going to clonk out it is an xf 250 crossflow carb fully reconditioned i have heard it can be somthing to do with the hose that runs to the brake booster yeah its an auto if that helps thanks

if the carby was just recoed, then check that the idle isnt too low or that your air/fuel mixture is ok before chasing vacuum leaks that may not be there.

i didnt mean the carb was recoed i meant the engine was the carb hasnt been do you think it could be somthing to do with the carb and yes it isnt the idle speed setting

what type of hose on the brake booster are you talking about? my 250 has the same problem when im rolling at the lights and just feathering the brakes. it seriously feels like the drivetrain is being stalled up and the engine struggles under it

you mean the vacume for the brake booster, have you checked the pcv valve? when the carb was reinstalled was the mating surface clean and no leaks?

yes the vaccum hose for the brake booster but no i have not checked the pcv valve does it make a lot of difference if replaced

id say it should be right as he has had a tune up on it but it still seems to be there as it is my dads i m not sure though but after he cut a heap of vaccum hoses off and blocked them up it seemed a fair bit better it runs better on gas then it does on petrol .
