When I had my XF I investigated supercharging. There was a company in WA supplying kits using a Sprintex underbonnet blower. Apparently this complete kit could be bolted onto a standard engine (providing its not completely shagged) and run low boost without any other mods. Dunno much more though. Lost interest when I started racing my XD.............

G'day

Come on whats your plan, a few of us have our own ideas to but its best to get the advice of older and more wiser people.

If you intend to keep this car for a while, then by all means spend the cash. If you dont, then dont do it.

You can get a nice clean el for between 7 and 10 grand and all ready all alot more stuff to play with. You have an increase kw, a much better handling car and its newer styling.

On the other hand you could bring your xf into the 21st century. I'm doing it slowly and its costing a fortune. My write up on my front end is coming.

Cheers

G'day

I thought thats what you would say, or a au 250 kw pursuit windsor :D (i looked into it but the out lay for the motor was too high)

I'm in the stages of an el conversion (gathering parts and other things for the job atm), i aqll ready have the motor and the cars fitted with an ed xr6 t5.

How much are you gona spend on the motor. I priced an au xr6 and compared it too an el with ms-2, rpd cam and exhaust. I ended up deciding to go with the el cause it was gona be 1000 cheaper with about the same hp.

What are you planning for brakes and suspension (we all know these cars dont handle without work, but mine does  )

Cheers

Just out of interest, is there any reason you want a "series II" motor?

haha. actually i ahvent got any particular reason, ive been told to go for the series II if i go the au xr6 way.

do i need any plans for breaks and suspension?

i already have discs all-round and im on monroe sports suspension.

or will i need to upgrade thta aswell?

being another 6, my car wont need 2 go over the pits will it?

im looking for 5 speed, i dont want auto, and i dotn wnat anything less than 5 gears. i spsoe having a stick to play with makes me feel more rmanly.. haha not really.

bottom line, xf xr6. i will get an xr6 motor. just so that when, or if any1 looks at my car like a spec of dirt, i can leave then in a cloud of smoke from the bruning rubber, exeting with the good old one finger salute "its an xr6 a**hole" hahaha

XR6 isn't that hugely quick to be perfectly honest, unless it has a snail hanging off it.
