Just a thought that as of June next year at least here in NSW unleaded fuel is replaced with E10 and your daughter, same as my son is only young and just starting would it be better to convert to gas as you have to modify the head any way. If history repeats within 5 years there will be no premium or ultimate fuel either going on the change over period from leaded fuel to unleaded fuel. Just a thought.

Yeah maybe so. Having the valves done is the first step anyhow. If she wants to go with gas, it wouldn't be such a big job, head wouldn't have to come off.

Yes even with the rebate at $1500.00 you should be able to gas it real cheap. Gas is the only way my kids & I can afford to run our cars. Regards TPVM.

i've got a 200cui motor rebuilt dual fuel, original carby with LPG mixer, original dissy, glass top fuel pump, aleternator and exhaust mani/ not burnt, if you or anyone interested it's looking for a new home...pm me or reply here...tom........also have a BW40 that will fit onto it

Thanks mate, Saw that one. might be onto an early 200 super pursuit from an XP that needs a rebuild. It's cheap but would prefer a 170 that will marry up with my 2 spd. The other 200 I was kindly offered above is unfortunately the later, larger block and I'm not cutting this car up for anything. Otherwise I would have definitely picked it up. Think a 250 2V is more than my daughter will need. I wouldnt mind it though...

Picked up an awesome score today. A 200 motor from a 66 mustang, Narrow block with a C4 tranny, Head recently fully recond with valves and seats done to suit unleaded. The narrow block to C4 bellhousing must be pretty rare. I've never seen one. Also have a wide block 200 super pursuit motor now from an XP that I had to buy just because it was cheap. Has a 3 spd manual box with it. Both are 3 bolt water pump blocks. Anyone else seen a narrow block C4 bellhousing?

Whats best is it only cost me 650. The head work would have cost almost that. Saw it running in the car before I bought it and it's spot on. Really happy with this bellhousing on the C4. It even has the mounting holes at the top for the column shift linkages. I can put it straight in where the 2 speed was and use all the original linkages to keep it stock looking. It's a bit longer than the 2 spd and I would say the rear shaft might be a bit bigger. Will have to play with tailshaft and rear mount position but that's it. As for diff gears when going from 2spd to 3 spd....... ? Or are they the same.

I would assume both transmissions run a 1:1 final ratio, so diff wouldn't have to change but having an extra gear would aid pickup somewhat

Being a 2 speed you would expect them to run a low diff to get them off the line, especially as it's a ute. You could go to a 2.92 or 3.23, I presume it's got the commercial 5 stud 14" wheels. Regards TPVM.

No its a sedan with 14 inch 4 stud wheels. I'll just leave it as it is and see how it goes. Can change it later if need be.
