Hey, the tailshaft bolts on my XF keep coming loose, repeatedly, particularlly after I do some towing with the car, Any tips to prevent this happening in future? It has a T5 manual and a 2.77 disc LSD diff if eithier of those things make any difference, although I"m sure they wont.

Replace the bolts and use Locktite.

Ive used my old bolts a few times, never came loose . Flog them up with a hammer and ring spanner and use red loctite.

being xf it will have the little 1/4" bolts and the little half moon braces...
i had this problem in my old ea, loctite and new washers did the job.... |

Inbalance or vibration contributes to this also.

Loctite should do the job, but as mentioned above, imbalance/vibrations can cause the bolts the undo themselves prematurely.
Loctite blue is good enough IMO.

I'll pick up some new bolts this week and get some loctite, cant really go too nuts tigtening them because as mentioned they are the small 1/4" thread 11mm head bolts with the U clamps, so cant go stupid on em or they'll break leaving further problems, other than that, I reckon it might be time to get new unis and get the shaft balanced.
