Howdy

As in my profile i have a 9 inch diff (Its not in as yet)

My question is - the 9 inch diff has the older style centre

(With the u bolts)

My question is - will i have to change the whole tailshaft or will i get away with using my tailshaft with different Unis?

Brenx - I have been told the factory tailshaft is longer than a factory 9 inch

Does that mean my tailshaft may go into the auto an inch more to suit length?

The tailshaft is the same length for 9' as borg warner. I did a borg warner -> 9" swap in my XB. Your XE runs the same tailshaft as my XB ;)

Can't remember I used to run a uni that had two different sized cups. There were a specialised uni for the conversion. Easily obtainable from a driveline specialist though.

I don't run that tailshaft anymore. I have too much power and had to go custom due to fitting a powerglide trans.
