I actually want to cut down the housing to use in another vehicle and it will be heaps easier to buy custom billett axles if the 9inch axles will fit.

The 9" axles are not the same. The wheel bearings are different, a popular conversion is to fit E Series diff ends to 9" housings and then use E Series Axles as the Wheel Bearings on Disc brake 9" are no good. There was one model Borgy that you could fit 9" axles to as long as you made the centre a 28 spline and that was a Disc brake out of an XC. Regards T.P.V.M.

hang on... im confused????
so, I can cut the ends off my e-series diff attach them to a 9inch and use the e-series axles with the 9inch centre? but, I cant use 9inch axles in the e-series due to different bearing size? so, what your saying is, the e-series axles will be compatible with 9inch centre? |
