By auto, do you mean FMX or C4? The manual starter motors are the same as the C4 but with the addition of an aluminium spacer. If you have a spare crook C4 type starter, you can rebuild it with the guts out of a 250 crossflow starter. The only downside is that the 6cyl starter has less balls. But still more that enough for most clevos.

Just get a 6cyl starter and swap the solenoid. That's all I did. I turns over my 11.5:1 compression 393 stroker without a problem.
