Fairly certain its legal but you will need a engineers certificate as for cutting the roof off, why don't you just keep it convertable and put a vinyl electric roof on her? Prolly cheaper and easier but may still need eng cert? Best bet would be to contact an engineer and ask them or transport Sa may help you answer some questions (ph) 13 10 84
Are you any good with a welder? Are you able to cut these areas out and reweld some sheet metal ?( eg. Rusted roof gutters, around back window, etc.)

Dont want to make it a convertible as i want to restore it to original condition.
As for welding new sections in it would be too mutch work as the a pillars are fully rusted out the c pillars have a fair amount of rust and the roof has rusted where all of the stitching for the vinalroof used to be and i dont know how to mig weld put am planing to learn how to in the near future. |

Website wont let me add photos says size is to big.
The roof is the main part of rust besides the taillight section and botom of the rear quaters. And i dont really want to get a better shell as it is a matching numbers 302 fairmont with the original motor But would consider a better shell if someone has one that they are willing to sell or a ZH Fairlane that is restorable but must be in adelaide. |

Try using imgur.com I use this site and its very good!! upload your pics there, resize them set the link to BBcode copy link, post link here done!!! It should look.similar to this.....[img]..............[/img] but letters and numbers
As for the roof issue, if you didn't pay to much for the car it may be a better option to seek out another using your old one for parts or wreck for parts, really need to post pics up to see how bad it really is see how you go mate cheers

There's a lot of work there mate but it seems more round the window and on pillars the actual roof looks not to bad
