a mate of mine has a 4spd XD. for some reason when he puts the clutch in the steering wheel moves downwards. it is not overly noticable. What is causing this.

wouldnt be something like the firewall flexing? my xf when i put the clutch in if you look from the engine bay where the cable passes through the firewall you can see it flex? maybe if it split it could cause enough movement to move the steering column?
or the pedle box hasnt come loose or something has it? ie does it do it with hard brake application? -mitch
